For the past years, many users have wondered why we kept two different versions of Smart Launcher available on the Play Store: Smart Launcher 6 and Smart Launcher 3. The truth is, Smart Launcher 3 is a product from another era. Released in 2015, it’s now 10 years old, and while it was innovative at the time, it is now largely outdated.
What will change?
To avoid confusion and to ensure new users don’t purchase the "wrong version," we’ve decided to remove Smart Launcher 3 Classic from the Play Store on February 1, 2025. The only change this will bring is that new users won’t be able to find or purchase it anymore. If you already own it, you will still be able to use it and redownload it in the future.
Additionally, you will still be able to enable the Smart Launcher 6 Pro license by installing Smart Launcher 3 Pro as a separate app.
Helping users transition
After removing Smart Launcher 3 Pro, we will make changes to make it easier for people still using the old version to migrate to the new version.
For those feeling nostalgic, Smart Launcher 3 will still be available for download from our official website at smartlauncher.net/apk.
If you’re still using Smart Launcher 3 and looking for a more up-to-date experience, we highly recommend trying Smart Launcher 6. It maintains the same core philosophy while introducing new features that make your experience much better.
