Today we are very happy to share some big news.
The Smart Launcher Team and Kustom Industries have started working more closely together and we are now preparing the creation of a new company: Wild Pixels.
A Different Way to Grow
For years, some users have asked us if Smart Launcher would ever become part of something bigger. Now it is happening but in a very different way.
No, we are not becoming part of a large corporation and we are not bringing in an external investor to decide the future of our apps.
We are joining forces with another independent Android team that has been building in the same ecosystem, with the same passion for customization, for many years.
The Smart Launcher Team and Kustom Industries have different histories, different products, and different strengths but we share the same belief: Android should be personal, flexible, and open to creativity.
Wild Pixels is born from that shared vision.
Two teams with complementary products and passionate communities are choosing to grow together, while keeping the same independent spirit that made those products possible.
And we’re genuinely proud to have made it happen.
The Same People With More Room to Build
All the apps you already love will continue to be shaped by the people who created and maintained them over the years.
What changes is that we will have more room to build. More shared knowledge, more resources, and a lot of complementary skills. More chances to turn good ideas into real things.
Smart Launcher has always focused on making the home screen cleaner, smarter, and easier to use. Icon Pack Studio gave users a way to create and share icon packs. Kustom Industries, with apps like KWGT and KLWP, helped define what advanced Android customization can be.
These apps already belong to the same world and many of you already use them together every day. Now, the teams behind them can work together too.
And just to be super clear from the beginning: better integration between our apps does not mean closing the ecosystem.
Android customization is special because it is open. We want our apps to work better together, while continuing to support third-party apps/launchers, creators, and the freedom that makes this community so creative.
What's Next
We have already started collaborating more closely but the formal process is not complete yet. We will share more details before everything is finalized. For now, we wanted to tell you what is coming, why it matters to us, and why we are so happy about it.
